
Tami Lucius
Chief Executive Officer
Tami J. Lucius serves as an officer and co-founder for Gradient Financial Group, LLC. Tami boasts an extensive financial services background with over 17 years industry experience. She started her career with Prudential Life Insurance Company in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She served in the field as an agent for one of Prudential’s leading agencies and was promoted to a director where she recruited and trained new agents for the development of an additional St. Paul, Minnesota branch office.
In 2001, Tami moved to Topeka, Kansas and began her tenure at an Allianz-owned field marketing organization, Personalized Brokerage Services (PBS). Tami served as vice president of operations and was instrumental in growing PBS from a team of 15 professionals to 150 professionals. PBS earned a reputation for operational excellence. Annual fixed annuity premium soared, and a wealth management business model was created which included securities, long-term care and life insurance divisions as well as a top-tier practice management program.
In 2005, Tami co-founded Gradient Insurance Brokerage, Inc. (GIB) where she currently serves as principal and chief operating officer. GIB is one of the fastest growing marketing organizations in the country and offers over 100 years of combined industry experience, proven prospecting platforms, all-inclusive service, superior back-office and marketing support.
In 2008, Tami co-founded Gradient Tax, LLC (GT) where she currently serves as chief executive officer. GT is the solution for tax planning and tax preparation. It offers four turn-key models for financial service and tax professionals with proven business-building and marketing platforms backed by a team of CPAs and tax professionals.
Tami earned her degree from Minnesota State University where she graduated with distinction in the top 10 percent of her graduating class. She has earned her Series 6 and 63 and is life and health licensed in all 50 states.
Jeffrey Foley
President
Jeff brings over 12 years of financial services experience in the insurance and the investment side of the industry. On the insurance side, he worked with a leading marketing organization based in Topeka, Kansas and served in numerous management roles, including Vice President of Marketing. Under his leadership, the organization submitted over $1 billion in annuity premium annually.
In 2006, Jeff joined Old Mutual Financial Network as Assistant Vice President Broker/Dealer and Marketing Relations where he was responsible for the internal annuity and life sales teams as well as the en Español sales team and all broker/dealer relations.
On the investment and compliance side, Jeff provides product and practice management guidance and training to advisors and has continuously supervised Registered Representatives. He performs compliance and correspondence reviews and signature guarantees.
Jeff earned his Masters of Science in Management from the American College and graduated with honors from Bethany University. Over the course of his career, Jeff has attained his Series 7, 24, 6, 63 and 66 registrations as well as the CLTC designation. He has held Life and Health licenses in all 50 states and is currently a candidate for the Charter Financial Analyst charterholder.
Jeff has lectured widely on financial topics and has authored numerous industry articles.
Nick Stovall, CPA, MBA
Chief Financial Officer
Handpicked to serve as chief financial officer for Gradient Financial Group, LLC, Nick Stovall CPA, MBA boasts an extensive background in accounting, finance and investments. With over 20 years of experience, he brings decades of private industry accounting, public accounting, business taxation, IRA taxation, technical taxation, tax law and tax policy knowledge to the organization. Stovall also holds his series 7 and 66 as well as his life and health insurance license. With an in-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and solid understanding of the complex demands of diverse business settings, his experience provides an invaluable perspective on the intricate relationships between tax and business issues.
During his tenure in the private industry sector, Nick served as the chief financial officer for Glenn Corporation and E Energy Adams. He has also consulted in the public sector serving individuals and businesses in the areas of financial and tax planning. Nick was an instructor with National American University, teaching upper division accounting courses and remains a mentor for aspiring accountants in the Twin Cities area.
Nick earned the Masters of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of St. Thomas and a Bachelor of Science in Finance where he graduated with distinction. In addition, he attended Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota for the Masters of Business Taxation.
Nick remains active in the accounting industry and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants (MnCPA) and the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA).
Jeff Quick
Vice President of Marketing
Jeff Quick serves as vice president of Gradient Tax, LLC. Jeff has extensive experience in taking businesses to the next level through successful sales and marketing efforts. He plays an integral role in the positioning, prospecting and revenue generation of a new or rejuvenation of an existing tax practice through the partnership with Gradient Tax.
Jeff began his career at Equus Computer Systems where he worked his way up to regional sales director in charge of sales and marketing. Equus Computer Systems is a nationwide leader in the manufacturing and distribution of custom-built, Intel-based personal computers, servers and computer networks. During his tenure, Equus experienced exponential growth, increasing its revenue from $60 to $180 million in revenue becoming the largest privately-owned, minority business in Minnesota.
Jeff continued to progress and went on to become a sales director for Sapphire Technologies the information technology arm of the billion dollar Vedior consulting and placement firm. He was responsible for new business development focusing on fortune 1000 clients. He was responsible for establishing and growing relationships with some of the most well-know companies in the United States today such as Wells Fargo, US Bank, Best Buy, Target Corporation and United Health Group.
Jeff was recruited by his client Wells Fargo Bank where he was selected to establish their new business development team in Minnesota. He was responsible for establishing new business relationships for the Minnesota Business Banking Group with companies generating revenue between $5 and $50 million. He oversaw the sales of over 150 financial and banking products specializing in commercial real estate, business and SBA lending as well as large depository relationships.
